Great Advice…

Filed under Books, Thinking Out Loud...

On my trip yesterday, I started reading Bird By Bird by Anne Lamott which is a book about writing. Part way into the book, there was a phenomenal quote that I wanted to share with you.

“E.L. Doctorow once said that ‘writing is like driving a car at night. You can see only as far as your headlights but you can make the whole trip that way.’ You don’t have to see where you’re going, you don’t have to see your destination or everything you will pass along the way. You just have to see two or three feet ahead of you.”

What a great principle not just necessarily for writing a book but simply for living life.

Wow. That’s good.
