Who are the people in your world that are truly pouring into who you are as a person? Who are the people you are networking with, learning from, and being challenged by?
This morning I did a school assembly in Kansas City and afterwards had a meeting with the owner of a major speaker’s bureau whose office was in the area. This is a guy who has been extremely successful in the speaking business and so several months ago, I asked if I could buy him lunch and pick his brain. He was cool with it and since then we’ve met three or four times together and he continues to teach me and challenge me as I build my business as a speaker.
But that would not have happened unless I first asked.
So again, who are the people that are pouring into your world? It may be personally, professionally, academically, or spiritually. Who are you currently learning from?
If your answer is “no one”, you need to find someone in your community that you look up to and admire and ask if you can buy them lunch.
Buying someone food really works!
