001: My Journey To ‘How Did You Get Into That’ (Grant Baldwin)

How Did You Get Into That

On our first episode of the show, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know me as I talk about who I am and why I started this podcast in the first place. Join me to find out what makes this show worth your time, why I’m here and what you’ll get out of listening.

MORE ABOUT THIS SHOW

One of the reasons I began this podcast was to serve people who are going through some kind of quarter-life crisis and are looking for inspiration and support.

As a teenager, I thought I knew exactly what I wanted to do with my life. While in high school, I decided to become a youth pastor and I was so committed to my course that I graduated early and enrolled in a nearby Bible college. I felt great, believing I was on my way to fulfilling my purpose.

Shortly after graduating and landing what I thought was my dream job, I began to see and feel differently. Burn out had set in and I had the nagging feeling this wasn’t “it”. And so began a very different kind of journey for me.

YOU’LL LEARN THINGS LIKE:

  • Why it’s valuable to find someone doing what you love and follow their path.
  • How I created a path where there seemed to be none – and how you can too.
  • The question to ask yourself when figuring out what you want to do with your life.
  • The importance of hustle, no matter what your current occupation.
  • And much, much more!

It was that journey that inspired this podcast: I set out to really find and create a life that was lived with purpose and fulfillment, the kind of fulfillment that comes from doing what I love for a living.

With amazing support from my wonderful wife and a lot of exploration, I found my path and my purpose as a motivational speaker for students. It took a lot of time, effort and energy to become a full-time speaker and in this episode, I share with you the steps I took to get me there. It didn’t happen overnight, but it did happen.

That’s one of the messages I wanted to convey with this podcast: whatever you want to do with your life, whatever calls to you, there is a way you can do it.

On this show, I’ll be highlighting people who have walked where you are walking and we’ll discuss the early steps they took to get traction, the traction that took them from Point A to Point Z.

TWEETABLE: “Life is too short to do something you hate.”

  1. Grant, I like the idea of going deeper into how entrepreneurs get started. I think a lot of times it’s lost in the storytelling process because everybody wants to hear about how they made it. Some podcasts will get into their failures, but they do not take a very in-depth look at the very beginning stages of his or her process. I think you leaving your job when your wife was 5 months pregnant was a bold move and I commend you for the hard work it took to make your dream happen. You didn’t just sit around and wait for it to come. You worked the nonglamorous jobs while you built it up. That’s awesome. I look forward to listening to more episodes.
